What I’m Reading

The 15 Commitments Of Conscious Leadership - Everything lives and dies on leadership. I believe this to be a universal law. Whether its in the arena’s of business, sports, your family unit or personal application, how one leads themselves and others (or lack there of) directly correlated to their success in that category. While most books regurgitate a lot of the same cliched information, this book has many new studies and fresh outlooks on impactful leadership. In short, conscious leadership is the process by which a leader becomes radically responsible, self aware, and focuses on building a culture of “we” rather that a focus around “me”. There are 15 great laws of leadership this book covers that every person who wishes to elevate their leadership skills should review. Highly recommend!

Wisdom of the Week

A smart person thinks he knows all the answers, while a wise person is comfortable knowing he doesn’t.

Question of the Week

Question: My partner and I often feel like we’re not on the same page because we’re both very busy trying to build our careers and keep some personal balance. How do you and your wife manage running a family, your business, and keep your relationship a priority? - Ashton J (Chattanooga, TN)

Answer: Relationships can get stressful, stale, and consistently require work. For me personally, my wife has single-handedly played a larger role in my happiness and success than any other person in my life. This is why we started our weekly “relationship recharge” which allows us to consistently work on our marriage and prioritize our communication at a minimum of once a week. It consists of 3 key questions and it only takes 30 minutes. Watch this 90 second video on how we do it and why its become the most powerful tool we use to keep our marriage strong, sexy, and stable as we chase our individual and collective goals.

Something I’m Enjoying Using:

My Fitness Pal - When I have a consistent, clean diet my energy is higher, I sleep better, and overall my mind and body feel stronger. The way I am able to keep a spotlight on my nutrition is My Fitness Pal. You can track physical activities, food, drinks, basically every calorie in/out. While they do have a paid version with some upgraded benefits, I enjoy using the free version that allows me to track all my meals and calories which is mainly what I need it for. Hack - To optimize your results, share your stats with others and get some public accountability around your health. Its one thing when you know your stats, but takes it to another level when you have some public peer pressure around your health and nutrition goals.

Onward and upward,
